For the recent renovation of Building 214, they collaborated with KSS Architects to create a bright and welcoming lobby. They chose to incorporate reSAWN’s MEDITATION white oak for wall cladding. MEDITATION helps create a bright, airy aesthetic when combined with the neutral color palette and modern staircase. MEDITATION carries through each floor, wrapping around the elevators and creating a consistent look throughout the entire space.

MEDITATION white oak features the refined grain pattern of our rift & quarter sawn white oak for flooring and wall cladding.
QUARTER & RIFT SAWN lumber is produced by first cutting the log into quarters and then making alternating cuts that are perpendicular to the annual growth rings. QUARTER SAWING produces boards with mostly vertical-grain and a distinctive figuring often referred to as “flecks”, “flakes” or “ray flecks” caused by the medullary rays of the log. RIFT SAWN lumber produces a very consistent and quiet board face with mostly vertical-grain.
This vertical-grain lends added stability to the QUARTER & RIFT SAWN boards making them less likely to cup or crown, making MEDITATION ideal for wood flooring over radiant heat or concrete subfloors. MEDITATION white oak is prefinished with matte polyurethane.
