Proprietary Finishes & Techniques
No two RESAWN finishes are alike. Each finish is intentionally designed and developed as a unique system, combining specific colors, finishing techniques, and wood species. This layered approach creates distinct material expressions with depth, nuance, and individuality to every project.
RESAWN primarily uses penetrating oils that absorb into the wood, preserving its natural grain and texture while allowing it to breathe and release moisture. These finishes accommodate the wood’s natural movement and wear gradually over time, making maintenance and renewal simpler than with film-forming finishes that can crack or peel.
Custom Color Creation & Matching
While our product lines offer a distinctive range of colors and finishes, some design visions call for something entirely new. Our R&D team works closely with clients to develop custom colors and explore matches to supplied references, considering how each color interacts with the wood’s species, grain, and texture. Whether refining an existing finish or creating a new expression, our goal is to bring the design intent to life while preserving the natural character of the wood.
