Custom Millwork: Distinctive Spaces Begin with Thoughtful Details
Architecture Is Remembered in Its Details
Walls, floors, and ceilings set the stage. Millwork tells the story. It’s the crisp shadow line of a casing, the warmth of a tread underfoot, the rhythm of slats overhead, the quiet precision where one material meets the next. These are the moments that draw people in and give a space its character.
Custom millwork lets you tailor those moments to the project rather than settling for what’s on the shelf. Profiles are drawn to your proportions. Species and cut are chosen for how they read in the light. Finishes are matched to the surfaces around them. The result is a space that looks resolved from every angle, with no awkward transitions, no off-the-shelf compromises, where every detail is considered.
RESAWN mills custom architectural components from the same species, cuts, and finishes we curate for flooring and cladding, so every surface in a project reads as one continuous material. You bring the design intent. We bring the material knowledge to carry it through to the final detail.
Why RESAWN?
Material Expertise. We source, mill, and finish the woods we specify, so we know how each species and cut performs long before it reaches the build.
Precision Milling. Modern milling equipment holds tight tolerances across every profile, from a single run of casing to a full building package.
One Source, One Palette. Flooring, cladding, and millwork from the same supply keep species, grain, and finish aligned throughout a project.
What We Mill
Custom Profiles & Trim
Moldings, casings, baseboards, crown, and window and door trim: the framing elements that define a room’s proportions. Whether you’re matching an existing profile or developing a new one from your details, we mill to the section you’ve drawn.
Stair Components
Treads, risers, nosings, landing trim, and complete stair packages that turn circulation into a centerpiece, carrying the adjacent flooring straight up the run.
Wall & Ceiling Cladding
Interior cladding, slat systems, and soffits that wrap a room in warmth, extending a floor or façade material across vertical and overhead planes for a single, deliberate material language.
Pre-Fabricated Corners
Factory-made corners in Accoya and Alaskan Yellow Cedar that give exterior cladding a clean, matched finish at every edge. See the Pre-Fabricated Corner Program below.
Pre-Fabricated Corner Program
Corners are where a façade proves its craftsmanship, and where cladding installs most often slow down. RESAWN’s pre-fabricated corners bring the same precision we apply to interior millwork to the building’s outside edges, giving architects and builders a refined, high-performance finish that integrates seamlessly with the cladding system.
Each corner is matched to the cladding field it completes, creating a cohesive facades from edge to edge:
- Smart Start & Finish. Intuitive starting and ending points at every corner joint reduce on-site fabrication, minimize mistakes, and lower labor costs.
- Design Versatility. Choose discreet coplanar boards for a quiet, continuous edge or overlaid feature assemblies for a bolder architectural statement.
- Consistent Weathering. Corners are matched to the cladding field, so the entire façade ages uniformly and stays cohesive over time.
- Easy Maintenance. Corners can be repaired or replaced without disturbing the surrounding cladding.
- Streamlined Installation. Corners work with existing fastener systems, with no extra flashing or hardware required.
Available Material
- Thermally modified: Radiata Pine (Abodo) and Red Oak (Sylva)
- Acetylated: Radiata Pine (Accoya)
- Furfurylated: Radiata Pine (Kebony)
- Natural wood species: Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Western Red Cedar, and Cypress
Residential Millwork: The Details That Make a Home Its Own
A remarkable home is felt as much as it’s seen: the stair rail under your hand, the trim that frames a view, the wood cladded wall that makes a room feel warm before anyone says a word. Custom millwork is where a house becomes personal.
RESAWN works with architects, designers, builders, and homeowners to shape millwork around how people live, from a single statement stair to trim and cladding that run throughout the home. Matched to the flooring and cladding, every room shares the same material thread, inside and out.
- Statement stairs and landings
- Trim, casings, and baseboards throughout the home
- Feature walls, ceilings, and soffits
- Interior details that echo exterior cladding
One Material, Every Surface
Custom millwork is available across the RESAWN catalog, from European White Oak and North American Black Walnut to thermally modified, acetylated, charred, and reclaimed woods. Specifying millwork from the same source as your flooring and cladding keeps species, grain, and tone aligned from the first board to the last.
Grain, color, and figure shift from board to board. That variation is the material at work, and it’s something we plan around. Stock is selected and sorted so character lands where you intend it: quiet and consistent on a run of casing, expressive on a feature wall.
How We Deliver
Every project includes Project Consultation to guide material choices and the practical details that follow. For more ambitious work, our Design Assist Services bring us into the conversation earlier and more closely.
- Design: Shape the details that finish the space. Align species, cut, profile, and finish with the architecture, the adjacent flooring and cladding, and how the space will be used.
- Validate: See it before it’s built. Review profiles, finish samples, and material studies to confirm appearance and refine key details before production.
- Build: Carry the intent to the last piece. Mill and finish to the approved details, then support your contractor and installers through delivery and site conditions.
