Accoya®: Acetylated Radiata PIne
Ultra-High Performance Sustainable Wood
Accoya is the timber industry benchmark for performance and sustainability. Trusted by architects since 2007 on more than 500,000 projects worldwide, it shows virtually no movement before, during and for decades after installation.
Stable by Design
Accoya’s acetylated modified wood is made through a precise acetylation process that uses acetic anhydride with carefully controlled heat and pressure. It adds moisture-resistant acetyl groups and reduces the water-attracting hydroxyl groups in the wood. The result is a clean, consistent material that holds tight reveals and crisp details. It can be left natural to show its grain or prefinished in custom colors, from deep shou sugi ban blacks to soft, light tones.
