Smooth Face
Tongue and Groove (T&G)
Tucked away by the scenic backdrop of an agricultural reserve in Water Mill, NY, Calm Meadows is a stunning feat of architecture designed to immerse residents in their natural surroundings. This peaceful retreat is methodically set on a 45-degree angle for maximum exposure to the surrounding nature reserve, with stretches of operable glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide unobstructed views, dissolving the boundary between home and landscape.
The exterior is wrapped in SiOO:X FSC®-Certified thermally modified radiata pine cladding, selected for its clean, contemporary appearance and long-term durability. Distinctive horizontal “ribbons” wrap the façade, creating covered balconies and outdoor living areas while emphasizing the home’s strong architectural lines.
The smooth-face, flat sawn texture thermally modified radiata pine wood cladding offers a refined texture that enhances the natural grain while allowing optimal finish penetration for consistent weathering. Through thermal modification, the wood achieves exceptional dimensional stability and durability, making it well suited for demanding exterior applications while maintaining the home’s understated aesthetic.
