Project Overview
Resting along the banks of the Delaware River in New Hope, PA, Main Street Contemporary is a newly reimagined residence where natural beauty meets refined craftsmanship and modern sophistication. Offering both privacy and proximity to New Hope’s celebrated arts, dining, and culture, the home achieves a perfect balance, effortlessly marrying warm, rich finishes with bold texture.
Material Selection & Performance
A carefully coordinated palette of wood species, textures, and finishes defines the residence both inside and out. The exterior combines VETTE charred furfurylated modified wood with CUSTOM FSC®-Certified acetylated modified cladding, selected for their durability, dimensional stability, and distinctive architectural character. CUSTOM thermally modified decking and CUSTOM acetylated modified ceiling cladding extend into the outdoor living spaces, creating a seamless transition to the private yard and pool.
Interior Material Selection
Inside, ROCKPORT North American Black Walnut flooring and ceiling cladding introduce warmth and richness throughout the home, while VETTE charred furfurylated modified wood serves as a bold architectural accent. By continuing complementary wood materials across exterior and interior spaces, the design establishes a cohesive material language that reinforces the home’s connection to its surroundings.
Custom Fabrication, Specification & Technical Support
From the earliest stages of design through final installation, RESAWN collaborated closely with DeLuca Design Build to refine material selections, develop custom solutions, and support successful project execution.
A wide range of product samples helped the team identify the ideal combination of species and finishes, while custom-milled VETTE cladding was fabricated for a concealed interior feature wall that integrates cabinetry and a hidden door. Throughout construction, RESAWN provided installation guidance, maintenance recommendations, and ongoing technical support to help ensure the long-term performance of each wood application.
