Brant Point is a new luxury waterfront community currently under construction in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. Situated on one of the highest elevations along the East Coast south of Maine, the development offers expansive views of New York Bay and the Manhattan skyline. The community consists of 16 custom residences, many of which incorporate premium natural wood materials selected for long-term performance in a demanding coastal environment.
The project features Alaskan Yellow Cedar and thermally modified radiata pine chosen for their durability, dimensional stability, and ability to weather naturally in coastal conditions.
Thermally modified cladding provides enhanced stability and reduced resin content, making it well suited for exterior applications exposed to changing weather. Alaskan Yellow Cedar was selected for its natural durability, weathered appearance, and timeless character, complementing the architectural vision of the development.
The project team partnered with RESAWN to identify wood products that combined long-term durability with the refined aesthetic envisioned for the community. During the specification process, the architect, builder, and developer visited RESAWN’s facility to review product samples and observe weathering demonstrations.
Field mockups further allowed the team to evaluate how the materials would perform and evolve over time, leading to the selection of Alaskan Yellow Cedar and thermally modified radiata pine cladding for multiple homes throughout the development.
Construction is actively progressing across the community. Several residences have already incorporated RESAWN products, with the remaining homes in various stages of construction as the Brant Point development continues toward completion.
