Tongue and Groove (T&G)
Tucked into the rolling vineyards and oak groves of Sonoma, California, the Sonoma House is currently undergoing a renovation that transforms the residence into a private retreat inspired by the surrounding wine country. The design emphasizes a seamless connection between the home and its landscape, creating indoor and outdoor spaces that reflect the relaxed character of Northern California.
The exterior features RADNOR FSC®-Certified Sylva™, selected for its warm natural tones and compatibility with the home’s existing stone elements. Together, the materials create a restrained palette that complements the surrounding vineyards while reinforcing the home’s connection to its natural setting.
Sylva is a thermally modified North American Red Oak sourced from responsibly managed U.S. forests. The thermal modification process improves dimensional stability and weather resistance, making it well suited for long-term exterior performance across a range of climates.
The project team selected RADNOR to achieve a natural exterior that balances aesthetics with durability. Throughout the specification process, RESAWN worked with the design team to provide product guidance and support, helping ensure the material aligned with the project’s architectural vision and long-term performance goals.
Renovation is currently underway as the Sonoma House continues to take shape as a modern wine country retreat.
