Tucked away in beautiful Southampton is Twin Gables, a new single-family residence featuring over 8,000 square feet of SiOO:X cladding, roofing, trellis, and slats. This modern take on a classic farmhouse is the perfect blend of design and functionality. The home’s design and use of large windows allow for a lot of natural light while providing a glimpse into the surrounding beautiful views, including mature trees, local farmland, and Mecox Bay. Some of the amenities include two rooftop terraces, a living roof, and an inground pool.
THE UP STUDIO notes, “The Twin Gable roofline is visually separated by one gable’s fully-wrapped wood cladding, and the other being made from metal. The shift in roofline material speaks to the home’s status as a modern home in a historic, farming region.”
SiOO:X Wood Protection on Abodo Vulcan Cladding by reSAWN TIMBER co. for exterior cladding features a water-based and environmentally friendly finish, with a unique, patented formula-based on silicon-potassium designed to accelerate the natural weathering process.
SiOO:X mirrors the natural aging process and accelerates the creation of the silver-grey appearance and gives long life protection in a completely environmentally friendly way. SiOO:X penetrates the wood and gives a light surface that is pleasant to touch. Apart from the surface being beautiful, it also is a barrier to algae, mold, and rot from gaining a hold in the wood. The surface is very easy to wipe down making maintenance simpler. The SiOO:X treatment reinforces and strengthens the wood surface.
