Brant Point is a new luxury development taking shape in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. Perched on the highest elevation on the East Coast south of Maine, this exclusive waterfront community offers unparalleled views of New York Bay and Manhattan. Just minutes from the sandy shores of Sea Bright and Sandy Hook, Brant Point combines coastal charm with sophisticated living. To ensure these homes withstand the coastal environment, 16 of the residences will feature premium wood, including Alaskan Yellow Cedar and Abodo® Vulcan Cladding. Renowned for their durability and stability, these materials are the perfect choice for this prestigious project.
Abodo® Vulcan Cladding, made from New Zealand plantation timber, undergoes a thermal modification process that enhances its stability and reduces resin content. Naturally resistant to the elements and free from chemical preservatives, it is perfectly suited for coastal homes exposed to variable climates.
reSAWN TIMBER co.’s Alaskan Yellow Cedar is renowned for its durability, stability, and appealing aesthetics. Its weathered allure complements any setting—whether mountains or beaches, sun or snow—providing a natural look as if it has always belonged there. The wood’s natural color variations arise from its interaction with the minerals in the soil of its growing environment.
Project Needs: In 2022, Spiezle Group approached reSAWN TIMBER co. to supply premium wood products for the 16-home Brant Point Development. Spiezle Group was seeking a manufacturer that could offer competitive pricing, expert guidance, and high-quality materials capable of withstanding the demanding coastal climate.
Projects Solutions: The architect, builder, and developer visited reSAWN’s facilities to evaluate product samples and observe the weathering process with our on-site weathering rigs. They were immediately drawn to reSAWN’s Alaskan Yellow Cedar and Abodo® Vulcan Cladding, which showcased a desirable weathered appearance and exceptional durability. On-site mockups demonstrated how these materials would evolve over time, further reinforcing their suitability for the project.
Project Results: The Brant Point Development is currently underway, with two homes already featuring reSAWN products and the remaining 14 homes in various stages of construction. The specification consultant has expressed great satisfaction in working with the Brant Point Team, anticipating a successful completion of the project.
