Expansive outdoor terraces, floor-to-ceiling windows, and open gathering spaces create a seamless connection between the home and its surrounding forested landscape, while filling the interior with abundant natural light.
Centered around hospitality and everyday living, the home features a generous kitchen, spacious dining areas, and multiple guest accommodations. Throughout the interior, ACE European White Oak flooring and ceiling cladding establish a warm, timeless aesthetic that reinforces the home’s connection to nature while elevating its contemporary farmhouse character.
The interior features ACE European White Oak across both flooring and ceiling applications, creating a cohesive material palette that unifies the home’s living spaces. Selected in a character grade, the flooring showcases natural knots, sapwood, and authentic grain variation, bringing warmth, texture, and biophilic qualities to the interior while complementing the surrouanding woodland setting.
To support the home’s active lifestyle and frequent entertaining, ACE was specified in engineered construction with a substantial 6 mm wear layer and a durable matte polyurethane finish, delivering long-term dimensional stability and performance. The project also incorporates multiple plank widths—including 5”, 7”, and 8-5/8”—to create visual rhythm throughout the home. In select areas, the flooring is installed in a classic herringbone pattern, adding timeless elegance and architectural interest while highlighting the natural beauty of European White Oak.
Throughout the design process, RESAWN collaborated closely with the project team to identify a flooring solution that would reflect the homeowners’ vision of bringing the surrounding landscape indoors. A wide range of species, finishes, plank widths, and product samples were reviewed to evaluate tone, character, and overall compatibility with the home’s natural material palette.
Following this collaborative specification process, ACE was selected for its authentic character, engineered performance, and design flexibility. The ability to coordinate multiple plank widths, ceiling applications, and herringbone installations allowed the material to reinforce the home’s architectural language while meeting the functional demands of a residence designed for gathering and entertaining.
