Clear Vertical Grain (CVG)
Surfaced 4 Sides (S4S)
Construction is underway on this private residence in San Mateo, California, where contemporary architecture meets the temperate climate of the San Francisco Bay Area. The home features KERERŪ thermally modified radiata pine wood cladding across the exterior, selected to complement the clean architectural forms while providing a weathered aesthetic that harmonizes with the surrounding neighborhood.
The project features KERERŪ to create a weathered appearance from the time of installation with minimal aesthetic change over time. Manufactured from thermally modified, clear vertical grain radiata pine, the cladding undergoes a proprietary brushing process that opens the wood grain for improved coating performance while producing a smooth, contemporary surface. The result is a durable, dimensionally stable wood cladding well suited for exterior applications in the Bay Area’s coastal climate.
