The Ryan Residence is coming together nicely in the Valley of Parowan, UT. This build is a modern addition to the quiet expanse of the rugged landscape. Awaiting final touches, this accessible home was thoughtfully planned, prioritizing comfort, mobility, and long-term living without compromising architecture.

This home is clad in ELK FSC-Certified Sylva, a warm, natural option that complements the geography and climate. Samples of this product were provided to support the specification process, allowing the architect to build an organic aesthetic match. The architect worked independently with the builder to advance the project, selecting a natural wood tone for a standard order. No mockup was required — the product samples provided all the clarity and confidence needed to align with the project vision. From specification through installation, the process moved seamlessly, reflecting the strong collaboration and coordination between teams.

ELK is a thermally modified North American Red Oak, locally sourced and sustainably harvested from FSC-Certified forests. Due to its thermal modification, it outstands various climates with extreme durability, while designed to weather naturally. This product is WUI certified and is the safest wood choice for products located in wildland-urban interface zones, which made it a perfect fit for a build in Parowan, Utah.
