Located in the hills of Hamilton, Brisbane, Zephyr Industries designed an entertainer’s high-end paradise.
Stretching from Prospect Terrace to Gray Street this residence cuts a silhouette into the city with its blackened, split triangular forms. NERO Protector Oil on Vulcan timber frames the Brisbane city skyline.
Breaking tradition, this residence follows a dark and textured aesthetic; Vulcan timber cladding with NERO Protector Oil, blackened off form concrete, metal sheeting, glass and vegetation creep down the hill.
To create a range of spatial ties to the outside, whether it is views of the city and river or to beautiful landscaping, a program of vertical spaces were created.
Vulcan Decking is created from thermally modified New Zealand plantation timber. It’s treated with an organic preservative system that includes water repellent for superior durability. NERO was designed especially for Vulcan timber, to provide the longest possible life between maintenance cycles.
This residence spans five stories with 11,000 square feet of living space and unobstructed river and city views from every level.
Vulcan timber is so lightweight, the material was used on the garage doors as well.
