Exterior Cladding and Slats:
Abodo Vulcan Cladding in NERO finish
This 1940 brick bungalow renovation and extension in Westmere features NERO Abodo Vulcan exterior cladding and slats. The deep black finish of NERO creates a contemporary aesthetic that tastefully contrasts its more traditional-styled neighbors.
Choosing Abodo lowers the need for maintenance. Abodo wood undergoes a thermal modification process that increases the durability and stability of the products. This is especially important for exterior cladding, which can be subject to many different kinds of weather events and climates throughout New Zealand.
When using darker colored cladding, stability needs to be accounted for since the darker colored wood can warp and twist easily with changing temperatures. Nero Protector Oil uses a mix of small and large particles of carbon black pigment. The smaller particles go deep into the wood while the larger ones stay near the surface. This, in addition to the thermal modification process, increases the longevity and aesthetic of the deep black finish.
