This apartment renovation located on the High Line in Manhattan features reSAWN TIMBER co.’s CUSTOM rift sawn White Oak flooring. The walls are folding doors that offer endless configurations to the overall apartment design while providing ample storage space. The light wood floors and crisp white walls maintain a clean, streamlined look with pops of color seen in the furniture and accents throughout. The High Line is a public park built on a historic freight rail line that is elevated above the streets. It was saved from demolition by local residents and opened in 2009 as a hybrid public space where nature, art, and design converge for a unique perspective of New York City.

Rift sawn is one of the most elite cuts and provides incredible dimensional stability.  Rift sawn lumber is produced by first cutting the log into quarters and then making alternating cuts that are perpendicular to the annual growth rings. This produces a linear, straight grain with a clean and consistent look.
