HOWAITO by reSAWN TIMBER co. features charred Cypress burnt in the Japanese style of shou sugi ban, and can be used for interior and exterior applications.
HOWAITO is made with Cypress sourced from the Southern United States. With its legendary beauty and natural durability, Cypress has long been a staple as an exterior wood siding product. Because Cypress generates its own preservative oil, called cypressene, it’s an ideal wood for locations with constant heat, humidity, and torrential rains.
Tommy Hein‘s work reflects a deep appreciation for the potential of architecture to enhance one’s life through the creation of built forms and the organization of space. They are dedicated to creating unique buildings appropriate to their environment as well as their cultural context. Each project grows from its site, embracing the nature of materials and light.
