ABOUT THE PROJECT
HOK recently designed the expanded headquarters of Air Lease Corporation in Century City. The design included reSAWN’s WILLIWAW Alaskan Yellow Cedar that is sourced anywhere from Alaska to Oregon and intended to provide a high performing, natural material.
Air Lease is a leading aircraft leasing company engaged in purchasing commercial aircraft and leasing them to its airline customers worldwide. The 30,000 square foot expansion involved both exterior and interior, glass enclosed offices, administrative support work stations, conference rooms, reception area, open collaboration space, a Flight Simulation Room and a flexible Multipurpose Room, subdivided by a SkyFold Partition with an adjacent Pre-function/Lounge Area for food service and casual interaction.
HOK designed the space to convey the sleek, elegant modernity, and technological sophistication of the state-of-the art aircraft that are the core of their business. HOK is a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm. They design buildings and spaces that respond to the needs of people and the environment.
WILLIWAW can be used for interior or exterior wall cladding and is available in clear vertical grade. Clear vertical grade Alaskan yellow cedar contains few character marks.
WILLIWAW is durable, dimensionally stable, resistant to rot and insects, and has a light tan/gray, weathered look. WILLIWAW can be treated to Class A Fire Rating for Interior Applications – please call to inquire. For exterior applications reSAWN recommends sealing the face and back.
