Athena and Victor Calderone found their forever home in historic Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. Three years and a full gut renovation later, this Greek Revival home makes eyes swoon; on-brand with Athena’s multidisciplinary creative work EyeSwoon. EyeSwoon turns the everyday into something meaningful and extraordinary – through food, entertainment, interior design, fashion, and lifestyle.
The 25-foot-wide townhome features tasteful decor, including custom furnishings and accents that highlight Athena’s brand and personal designs. The extra-wide width townhome allowed for an expansive kitchen and enclosed terrace. This iconic area of the home, featuring KIP European White Oak in a herringbone pattern, is featured on the cover of Live Beautiful, a design book by Athena Calderone. The level of detail that went into the home is apparent, as every single piece effortlessly complements another – thanks to Athena’s thoughtful execution of the home’s design. The home’s open floor plan allows for fine dining and entertaining, both passions of Athena. This noteworthy project is featured in countless publications, including Architectural Digest, House & Garden, and Vogue.
The first floor features reSAWN TIMBER co.’s KIP European White Oak in a herringbone pattern. The second floor features 7″ wide KIP European White Oak, tying in the design elements throughout the home. As noted in ROOM SWOON: MY BROOKLYN ENTRYWAY on EyeSwoon, “When choosing the flooring for her home, Athena wanted to offset the cool surface of the black and white marble tiles with a warmer material. To do this, she laid down European White Oak from reSAWN TIMBER co.”.
KIP by reSAWN TIMBER co. features wide plank European White Oak flooring and wall cladding prefinished with hardwax oil. reSAWN‘s European White Oak is prefinished and available in engineered construction. The engineered material comes standard at 5/8” thick with a substantial 4 mm wear layer, or 3/4” thick with a full 6 mm wear layer for a truly superior product. The 7” face width showcases the full character and grain pattern that European White Oak has to offer.
