Accoya has been chosen as the ideal material for the siding on the new Applebee’s store in Palmhurst city on Mile 3 and Conway in South Texas. The casual dine-in restaurant marks a significant milestone as the first sit-down eatery in Palmhurst and the ninth Applebee’s in South Texas.
In terms of design the location will also be the first of its kind as the Applebee’s corporation is evolving and with that means a new floor-plan and interior design. The Palmhurst Applebee is the new prototype that future Applebee’s will be measured against.
The eatery was designed to be both comfortable and full of natural light, while also serving as a highly functional building. Accoya was chosen for the siding of the project as it offers unrivalled environmental advantages that far outweigh the use of alternative products such as scarce, slow growing unsustainable hardwoods.
As one of the most durable and stable products on the market, Accoya is 75% less likely to shrink and swell as it faces cold and wet winters, while in the summer its structural integrity remains intact as temperatures rise.

Accoya has been chosen for Mellow Johnny’s Bike store and café at 4801 Edwards Ranch Road, Fort Worth, Texas.
Much like the Austin store the Trailhead location is a destination for health, family and fitness. Located just a few feet from trinity River and trails, it’s the perfect spot for rides along the 40+ miles of friendly bikes and hike paths.
Mellow Johnny’s aims to be a destination for cycling and social gathering. Both the Austin and Fort Worth settings are based on the company’s mission to increase cycling as a popular form of transportation and utility, as well as fun and fitness. In keeping with their ecological theme, Accoya was chosen due to its non-toxic and recyclable credentials. Plus due to its high strength to weight ratio, Accoya wood is the most suitable for applications such as these.

Accoya has been chosen for the famous 2175 Market street apartment complex. 2175 Market is located at the five-point intersection of 15th Sanchez Street. It is the convergence of some of San Francisco’s most vibrant neighbourhoods – Duboce Triangle, The Mission, Hayes Valley and The Castro.
2175 Market is designed to meet LEED Platinum Certified standards. That means sustainably-sourced materials and energy-efficient building systems, from appliances to solar water heating. As a mixed-use, transit-oriented development, 2175 Market has taken the highest steps to utilise environmentally sustainable products and materials, and to minimise waste and pollutant. This is why Accoya was selected.
The result is a beautifully-designed community, inside and out.

Designed by Camillo Botticini Architetto, Accoya was selected to fulfil the owner’s requirement for an eco-friendly property.
Accoya was used for the for cladding and was chosen because it is one of the most durable and stable products on the market.
While the design of the property was to be architecturally expressive and impactful, building materials such as Accoya offered an opportunity to build something which had little impact on the environment and would help it to blend in. Accoya works both by supporting the environmental objectives of the build, while also providing a strong, superior cladding which is able to withstand wet winters and hot summers with little maintenance compared to competitor products.

One of the USA’s most sustainable family homes, constructed with the extensive use of Accoya wood, has been awarded platinum level LEED certification – the highest recognition available from the US Green Building Council.
The 4,211 sq. ft. custom built single family residence in California’s desirable Newport Beach has become a benchmark in Energy and Environmental Design for Homes and will serve as an educational tool for the local and international community to showcase stewardship of the environment.
Accoya was used for the fascia of the house, as well as for additional features including the balcony railing, rain screen siding, garage doors, jamb and decorative beams.

Louis Vuitton designers have selected Accoya®, for the brand’s second store in Latin America.
The prestigious clothing and accessories store, located in Santiago, Chile, was designed by Louis Vuitton architect, Jose-Carlos Valdivia de Los Ríos and Gustavo Carmona, a Mexican architect who lead the Materia-Arquitectónica study.
Accoya has been selected for the façade of the building and has been designed to recreate Louis Vuitton’s famous quatrefoil branding which adorns many of the company’s luxury products.
Recreating this design in wood would be a challenge for most products. However Accoya’s unique modification process made this challenging remit achievable. The façade also had to meet the high standard of quality associated with the brand and be delivered to the highest levels of aesthetic finish. The geographical location of the store also posed further obstacles for the team, with Santiago prone to humid conditions within the summer months.
The finished building is impressive and the Accoya façade is covered with our guarantee against rot and decay for 50 years for exterior use above ground, making it perfect for a demanding outdoor application and location such as this.

On a unique site facing the sea, north of Copenhagen, Denmark, Architects MLRP have designed an extraordinary residence. The house is a unique structure compared to the usual traditional Danish house. The house looks as if it grows out of the earth at an angle.
The concept arose from the restrictions that were laid out by the very strict local planning authorities, which would only permit one and a half floors and a gabled roof. The architects wanted a landscaped house and the client wanted something unique. This way the house interprets the Danish building tradition in a radical new way.
The house opens up towards the water and from the road is seen as a warm, organic element. With its large openings of glass, it will be ensure a visual contact between land and sea.
This striking detached private residence has recently been cladded with 650 m2 of Accoya® cladding by Profftre As and installed by contractor AF Hansen Construction.
The cladding profile has up to 235mm widths and 4800mm lengths and because the Accoya cladding boards are almost free of shrinkage and swelling Accoya is the only type of wood where the cladding can be mounted tightly with tongue and groove vertical or horizontal assembly.

Accoya wood has been used to create cladding, windows, doors, decking and guttering in family home in Sweden.
The home, which is located in the north of Stockholm has been designed by Kalle Lilja of local construction and joinery firm Rejal Bygg. Kalle wanted to create a luxury family home for the property market, which would push the boundaries of design and innovation and would require as little maintenance as possible.
To deliver the project he turned to Sweden’s Accoya distributor, CEOS, and the company’s managing director Urban Stenevi. Together they decided to use Accoya for the project. Accoya met their build objective of delivering a property which required little maintenance, however Kalle was intrigued by Accoya and wanted to push it to its limits so he could realise the product’s full potential.
Over 20 m3 of Accoya was ordered for the project and was used to create cladding, windows, external doors, decking and even the guttering. They chose to use uncoated Accoya, which brought several benefits. Not only did it speed up the build process with no need for painting and drying times, but it also helped to keep costs down.
The joinery firm and construction company were very impressed with the performance of Accoya on this project. The build time was faster than expected with other wood species, it was easy to use and work with and it allowed to use wider planks of Accoya for the cladding.
