Located in the coveted Bel Air neighborhood, this Italian Villa received a complete transformation. This complete home makeover is featured in Arch Digest. The homeowners, including fashion designer Julie Harrah, were deciding whether or not to renovate the home or to move, as their children just went to college. After meeting designer Alana Marie, they chose to renovate the home. Alana Marie notes, “The project started out as a simple retooling of the primary bath, which turned out so well that the clients overhauled the rest of the house.” Drawing inspiration from the noteworthy Calderone Residence, KIP European White Oak in a Herringbone pattern is the perfect design element in different areas of the home. The warming tones of European White Oak perfectly complement the various vintage pieces, including a 1970s wood and steel chaise.
KIP by reSAWN TIMBER co. features wide plank European White Oak flooring and wall cladding prefinished with hardwax oil. Our select grade highlights the tonal uniformity and clarity of an elevated grade of European Oak. We allow for occasional pin knots and small filled knots up to 5/8” in diameter. Efforts are made to cull sap, but some edge or end sap may be present.
With her strong hospitality background, but love for residential, Alana has a unique take on designing interior spaces. Her aesthetic is not specific to a style or era (because why limit yourself), rather a marriage of designs that complement one another, accentuate the surroundings, and make people feel something!
