In an article published in the Vol. 3 2018 issue, Residential Design Magazine featured a case study on the Wayzata Residence, highlighting the use of reSAWN’s NIGIRI shou sugi ban charred Accoya. Designed by Minneapolis-based firm Snow Krielich Architects, the Wayzata Residence is situated on a beautifully scenic location with incomparable proximity to Lake Minnetonka, one of the most popular lakes in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes”. Matthew Kreilich, FAIA, who led the design on this project, chose reSAWN’s NIGIR shou sugi ban charred accoya for the exterior cladding.
KUJAKU shou sugi ban :: Shackamaxon Townhouse
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Located in one of Philadelphia’s trendiest neighborhoods, this Shackamaxon Townhouse was designed to accommodate a newly retired couple who collects all kinds of art, including paintings, sculptures, pottery and more. Designed by Shila Scarlet Griffith of SG23 Design, this project utilizes KUJAKU shou sugi ban charred cypress for a unique accent wall that spans two floors.
Modern Shou Sugi Ban Wood Cabin in Mascoma Lake
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Located on the Southeastern edge of Mascoma Lake, this modern shou sugi ban wood cabin is inspired by the New Hampshire Landscape. Designed by Kairos Shen, the Enfield project utilizes TORA shou sugi ban exterior siding, HADAKA shou sugi ban exterior siding, and clear vertical grain western red cedar.
reSAWN Debuts 10’x20′ Booth for NAHB International Builders Show
Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the National Association of Home Builders is bringing together custom builders, contractors, architects, designers, and manufacturers at the Orange County Convention Center for its annual International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida. The three day event, from January 9th through January 11th, will see over 80,000 attendees cover 570,000 net square feet discovering new and innovative products in the architecture and building industries. Earlier this November, reSAWN TIMBER co. was one of 325 exhibitors to present a wide variety of products to the hospitality industry at Boutique Design New York (BDNY). The two day event brought over 5,000 hospitality designers, architects, and purchasers to the Jacob Javits Center in NYC in search of sustainable and cutting edge materials. reSAWN featured shou sugi ban charred wood, interior and exterior cladding, newly harvested and reclaimed flooring, and custom furniture pieces.
Accoya Selected for Wood City Apartment in Helsinki
In a news post on its website, Accoya® announced its specification as exterior cladding on the Wood City Apartment. The eight floor high residential high rise directly facing the Gulf of Finland is located in the trendy Jätkäsaari district of Helsinki. The project is a joint venture developed by Stora Enso Wood Products, Helsinki City Apartments Limited, Novenberg Limited and SRV Group Plc.

MATSU shou sugi ban Adds Textured Aesthetic to Bethesda, MD House
ABOUT THE PROJECT
A northwest suburb of Washington, D.C., Bethesda is a hub of young professionals and diplomats. The Bethesda residence contrasts the classic colonial neighborhood with a dark color palette and the inclusion of reSAWN’s MATSU shou sugi ban Accoya wood. Using a dark gray coupled with the black shou sugi ban wood siding, Anne Decker Architects lightened the mood of the house with the inclusion of large windows.
