Located in downtown Jackson, this private residence received a complete refresh, including over 4,000 square feet of SiOO:X Abodo Vulcan Cladding. This ideally located home is a short distance from all Jackson has to offer; downtown Jackson, Snow King Mountain, and the National Elk Refuge.

The builder was looking for a clear vertical grain product that is low maintenance. The homeowner wanted a sustainable building material with a soft tone; to fit in with the overall aesthetic of downtown Jackson homes. SiOO:X Abodo Vulcan Cladding was the perfect choice for this remodel.

These photos capture weathering approximately 12 months after installation started. Climate, altitude, facing, climate zones, and the weather are all factors of how wood weathers. In Jackson, the summers are warm and dry while the winters are freezing and snowy, with typical high mountain weather. The reaction process for SiOO:X needs moisture. When you enter dry climates, such as the Rocky Mountains region, this reaction process takes longer for the wood to fully patina. We look forward to following this project to continue watching SiOO:X weather beautifully to a silver grey and see how SiOO:X weathers in this region.

SiOO:X Wood Protection on Abodo Vulcan Cladding by reSAWN TIMBER co. for exterior cladding features a water-based and environmentally friendly finish, with a unique, patented formula based on silicon-potassium designed to accelerate the natural weathering process. It is also designed to minimize the frequency of maintenance, while also weathering evenly across all areas of a project that receive UV exposure.

SiOO:X provides a solution by mirroring the natural aging process, accelerating the creation of the silver-grey appearance, and giving long life protection in a completely environmentally friendly way. SiOO:X penetrates the wood, providing a light surface that is pleasant to touch. Apart from the surface being beautiful, it also is a barrier to algae, mold, and rot from gaining a hold in the wood. The surface is very easy to wipe down making maintenance simpler. The SiOO:X treatment reinforces and strengthens the wood surface.
